4x4 Rally Walkthrough

Warning - Hype incoming (or so it seems)!

"This is a challenging rally game of 4x4s vehicles. Get into your 4x4 truck and race with other opponents with significantly high artificial intelligence!" This is what the game description of 4x4 Rally says. Hyped-up, that's what I thought initially. I just shrugged it off and went on to play. And to my surprise, this seemingly innocuous racing game is REALLY challenging. It's one of those car games that will pit you against really good AI racers, who would pound on every mistake you make at the race track.

The objective of the game is as straightforward as it could get. You are driving a 4x4 truck, and like other online and flash-based racing / car games out there, you will race and compete against others. You need to finish on one of the first three positions if you want to unlock the next level and play on it. Sounds easy, doesn't it? Well, wait until you play the game! The AI racers sure know how to make the race as tough as it can get. They will surround and gang you up, they will ram their cars to yours from all directions, and the next thing you know, someone has taken the first three spots. And that means you need to start all over again... and go through the same punishment.

The race tracks in 4x4 Rally are quite varied, too. You need to drive your 4x4 different and unforgiving terrains. You will start off with ice lands where the ground is as slippery as it could get... making it hard for you to control your car and its movements. You will move onto the grasslands, dense cityscapes where the track is quite narrow, and you will also race inside a giant's body.

The graphics and design of this car game isn't top notch, BUT it is above-average without a doubt. The only quibble I have in this department is that every 4x4 truck in the game looks identical. The size, the build, and everything else in between - they all look the same. The only thing you can change is your car's color. You can tweak the color for the roof, body, and bed... and that's about it. There's not a lot of customization, upgrades, add-ons, etc. in the game.

Not a lot of bells and whistles - I guess the creators of this game are quite straightforward people: you want a racing game, here it is. HOWEVER, when it comes to stepping up the challenge and difficulty meter, they did an A+ job in my opinion.

So in conclusion, if you are looking for racing and car games where you need to manage a team of racers, buy upgrades, beef up your wheels, get damaged cars repaired, etc., then this is not for you. HOWEVER, if you are on the hunt for car games that are straight to the point and challenging, I'm sure you will like 4x4 Rally flash game.
