Ghetto Getaway Walkthrough

Ghetto Getaway is a 3D Shockwave driving game where you play the role of a mob driver. This car game features straightforward gameplay, great graphics, and simple controls.

The objective of Ghetto Getaway is to drive from point-to-point while avoiding the police. The direction and distance to the next point is indicated by the gauge in the lower-right corner of the screen. Drive to each destination as quickly as possible to earn money (which are essentially just points because money cannot be spent on upgrades in this driving game). The game ends when your car is totaled.

The keyboard is used to control Ghetto Getaway. Use the left and right arrow keys to steer and the up and down arrow keys to accelerate and reverse. Turning around sharp corners is tough in this car game, but using your handbrake can make this easier. To use your handbrake, hold the C key. If you find yourself sandwiched between two police cars or otherwise unable to move, press the R key to reset your car. Keep in mind that this does not replenish your car's health, but only sets you on the road so that you can drive.

The real challenge of Ghetto Getaway is not evading the police, but rather navigating the streets of the city. The police will probably only catch you if you are slowed down by crashing. Luckily, you do not have to worry about dodging pedestrians or traffic, but turning sharp corners and speeding down the narrow roads may pose a problem. As stated above, it is a good idea to use your handbrake to make sharp turns. The controls can be very sensitive in this car game, so quick keystrokes may work better than holding down the keys when steering. Keep trying until you get the hang of it!
