Rope Car Instructions

The controls for Rope Car is quite standard for car games out there: use the A button to drive the car backwards, then press and hold down the D button to drive it forward. Those are the keys for basic movement. HOWEVER, there's more to it than driving forward and backward in this car game as we shall see.

Rope Car Walkthrough

A hybrid game combining the elements of car games and drawing games, Rope Car (which is brought to you by Blitz Gamer) will surely grab your attention if you are a fan of either genre. The objective of the game is very easy to understand (as with most car games out there): within the level, there are stars scattered all over the place. You need to collect these stars, and reach the finish line (which is indicated by that checkered flag). Rinse and repeat the steps until you finish the game.

Sounds easy? Yeah, it sure does. HOWEVER, getting to the finish line, especially when you get to the latter stages of the game, is NOT as 'cut and dried' as you thought it would be. The stars are placed at the oddest and weirdest spots in the screen. Using your mouse, you need to draw the lines where your rope car will pass through. By the way, don't make the mistake of crashing into any object (whether it's created by you or it's already within the level). Also, falling from a high platform while driving at top speed isn't going to do you any good either. Doing either of these mistakes will damage your car, and that means you need to start the level again.

While the challenges' difficulty ramp up later in the game, there's no time limit. You can take as long as you like in your effort to find the optimal path. HOWEVER, if you want to score as high as you possibly can, you should finish every level as fast as you can. The scoreboard gives the game good replay value. You can try to discover the best paths and platforms to draw in the first try, and in the second, you can try to execute it as fast as possible to get a shot at the top scores.

There are a couple of other buttons you should be familiar with: (1) you can press the Q button to switch to a normal cursor. (2) Hit the S button to bring up that feather-pen and start drawing your path and platform. And last BUT not the least, (3) the W button brings up the eraser, a tool which is very handy if you accidentally draw squiggly and obstructive lines.

There are some helpful buttons located in the lower right section of the screen: (1) Sound button is for switching the sounds and music on and off. I, personally, don't find the background sounds and music to be helpful. (2) The Trash Bin, on the other hand, is for undoing what you just did. (3) The Retry button, lastly, is for restarting the level in case you get stuck.

Using the Retry button is good. Spamming it, HOWEVER, is NOT! This can significantly lower your score. So, as much as possible, try to make the most out of whatever situation you find yourself in.

Summing things up, there are 3 things you need to keep in mind when playing this car game: (1) Collect all the stars you find in the game by drawing your platform, and get to the finish line in one piece. (2) Don't spam or 'rape' the Retry button. Use it only when you desperately need to. (3) Finish every level as fast as you can.

All in all, Rope Car is NOT a spectacular game. HOWEVER, it's unique and different compared to other car games out there, and will surely attract fans from the car games or platform / drawing games genre. Give it a shot and see if you like it.
