Street Racer Walkthrough

Street Racer is a three-dimensional Shockwave racing game that simulates racing in high-performance cars. This car game features spectacular graphics, simple controls, and three challenging tracks!

Despite its name, Street Racer does not simulate racing on city streets. Instead, races take place on three racing tracks. Only the first track is available when you start this car game, but the other tracks unlock after you have completed prior races. Unfortunately, your progress is not saved, so you will not be able to continue from where you left off the next time that you play the game.

Street Racer uses a standard keyboard control scheme found in similar racing games. The left and right arrow keys are used to steer your car while the up and down arrow keys accelerate forward and backward. Alternatively, you may use the respective WASD keys to control your car. Press the spacebar to deploy your handbrake, which is useful for making tight turns. The shift key activates your nitro boost. You have limited boosts in this car game, so use them wisely. Finally, you can press the control key to switch camera views. The default camera view is the best in my opinion, but other players may prefer different camera views, and the ability to switch them is an excellent addition to this racing game.

Street Racer is a graphical masterpiece with splendid gameplay, but there are a few issues that may upset some gamers. Firstly, the race begins as soon as you see your car on the track. There is no countdown like in other racing games, so you will have to start accelerating right away or you will be left behind. You may even find yourself having to use one of your nitro boosts to catch up to the other racers! Secondly, there is no clearly-marked starting position on the tracks, so you will not know when one lap has ended and the next has begun until you look down at the lap counter. Thirdly, gamers that like variety will be upset that the different cars do not have different statistics as well. Finally, there is no saving in this car game, so you will have to play from the beginning in order to unlock all of the tracks each time that you play.

Despite its flaws, Street Racer is an outstanding car game that brings arcade-style racing to your computer. Put the rubber to the road and the key to the plastic in this awesome racing game!
